Natural Refrigerants

The regulations on the refrigerants are getting tighter and tighter. Do you need to replace your old cooling devices? Learn about our offerings in the natural refrigerants!

As regulations get tighter and focus of the companies is turning more and more to the green values, big part of planning the right cooling system is choosing environmentally friendly refrigerants for the chillers and heat pumps.

Natural refrigerants are substances that occur naturally in the environment and can be used as alternatives to synthetic refrigerants in chillers. Examples of natural refrigerants include carbon dioxide, ammonia and hydrocarbons like propane and isobutane. Compared to synthetic refrigerants, natural refrigerants have a lower impact on the environment, as they have low GWP (Global Warming Potential) values, so they do not contribute to ozone depletion or global warming. They are also generally more energy-efficient, requiring less energy to achieve the same cooling effect.

However, natural refrigerants can be flammable or toxic in certain concentrations, and their use requires specialized training and equipment to ensure safe operation. Despite these challenges, many companies are increasingly turning to natural refrigerants in chillers as part of their efforts to reduce their environmental impact and improve energy efficiency. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see continued innovation and expansion in the use of natural refrigerants in chillers and other cooling systems.

BM Green Cooling has been pioneering with natural refrigerants for years, and we will help you make the best decision in your individual cooling need.
